
New Japanese Waffle Food Truck Has Arrived in Grand Rapids
We're definitely getting into food truck season! Food Truck Fridays are back at Riverside Park and there are tons of festivals and events coming up to sample yummy treats from mobile food vendors.
Well, keep an eye out for a new food truck on the scene in Grand Rapids!

This has to be one of the more unique concepts for a food truck that I've heard: Fish-shaped, stuffed Japanese waffles. Plus, their mascot is a kitty, which you know I'm always here for as a proud crazy cat lady!

Have you heard of Neko Taiyaki? The owners Sam and Maggie have been hosting pop-ups throughout West Michigan for the past two years.
What is Taiyaki?
On their website they explain Taiyaki are fish-shaped waffles stuffed with sweet or savory filling. The dish originated in Japan in the early 1900s.
What's on the Menu at Neko Taiyaki in Grand Rapids?
Owners Sam and Maggie say they want you to be transported to street festival in Japan each time you take a bite.

The waffle batter is sweet and stuffed with the filling of your choice.
Neko Taiyaki has a rotating menu including filling options like:
- Nutella
- Vanilla Funfetti
- Cinnamon Roll

- Everything Bagel
- Bacon and Cheese
- Pizza

Come celebrate with Neko Taiyaki at their food truck launch party at Speciation Cellars on May 24, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
