With all the heavy, crazy stuff in the news lately, it’s nice to stumble across something that just… feels different. A video popped up on my Facebook feed that actually made me stop scrolling—and I had to share it.

The Muskegon Police Department recently shared a story about one of their own that’s catching attention all over West Michigan. It’s a simple, selfless moment—captured on Officer Walsh’s body cam—that shows how much a small act of compassion can mean.

In the video, you see Officer Walsh standing near his squad car when a man approaches him on the sidewalk. The man quietly tells him that he’s not feeling well and that he’s hungry. Without hesitation, you hear Walsh respond, “You’re hungry? You want some food?”

He walks back to his vehicle, grabs a Jimmy John’s sub—his own dinner—and hands it over. When the man asks for water, Walsh admits he doesn’t have any but then offers his own drink from the restaurant.
