Saturday night downtown was a fun night of celebration for our Independence Day in Grand Rapids! We have lots of bands playing, a bunch of great food and drink, and of course, a HUGE fireworks display off a bridge across the Grand River!

We kicked everything off about 5:30pm, with the Holland American Legion Band, the Upstage Crew, Tyler Howe Band, and Pop Cult for entertainment on the stage all evening.

We gave away a bunch of free stuff to everyone in Ah-Nab-Awen Park, even shooting T-shirts to people way in the back with our T-shirt cannon, tossing beach balls, and all kinds of free stuff for as many people as we could!

Then, at 10:30, we launched a massive fireworks display that made everything else in the West Michigan area look like it only had a few party poppers. The explosions in the sky were loud, the crowd was loud, the fireworks lit the sky downtown, and everyone had a blast!

If you missed it, check out some of the photos from the fireworks, and be on the lookout for the complete show coming to WGRD.com tomorrow!
