The state of emergency has been extended by Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

As businesses open back up and people begin to gather in small groups again, this does not mean the coronavirus has gone because it has not.

Michigan has been one of the tops states in the country in flattening the curve and that is why we have begun the reopening of factories, non essential stores and businesses as well as salons, barbershops and gyms (up north only). People must understand that because we have all sacrificed to get to this point but also in order to stay on this path, we all need to wear those masks, practice social distancing and to not get in to big of a hurry to get completely normal.

If people adhere to these rules and advice that comes from scientists that specialize in pandemic diseases we can stay on a path that continues to help individuals and strengthen our economy. If you don't, we will get right back where we were and more will get sick and more will die.

According to FOX 17, Governor Gretchen Whitmer has extended the state of emergency until July 16. No this doesn't mean you have to stay locked in your home but it does mean you should still only travel when necessary, wear a mask and continue social distancing.

Also apart of this state of emergency includes pausing evictions. Not everyone is back to work, many jobs have been eliminated from companies or businesses flat out closed. This all leaves many still trying to figure out what to do.

As much as I miss concerts and want things to get back to normal there still is a pandemic going on. Just look at the states that opened before they flattened the curve, they are now becoming the new epicenters for the virus.

We all need to really take a look at how New Zealand and South Korea has handled the virus in their countries. Learn from them since they both have done the best job in the world handling this pandemic.

Everyone needs to treat this seriously and not just some people. In order for us to be in this together, we all need to handle this the same way together or like other states, we will wind up where we were in late March early April.

Be safe.
