Michigan Woman Caught Having Sex During Court Hearing

Many court hearings now take place virtually, which has really helped people who struggle to get transportation to the courthouse to still attend their hearings. However, when people attend their hearings from home, some seem to forget that they are actually in court and just on a call.

For whatever reason, it seems that the Honorable Judge Cedric Simpson is on the receiving end of some truly unhinged behavior in his courtroom, and that happened once again after a woman seemingly had sex and smoked during her hearing.

Judge Cedric Simpson of the 14A-1 District Court in Washtenaw County has made a name for himself around the globe for both his calm and compassionate nature and rulings, as well as the straight up bizzare things that happen in his courtroom.

His most well-known moment took place last year when a man on a suspended driver's license attended his hearing while driving a car. Many moments from his courtroom have been featured in the A&E show Court Cam.

But this was one of the instances that did not have the Judge laughing. Defendant Jessica Kay Brasgalla, age 34, was attending a remote hearing on January 24th, 2026, for a felony charge of Uttering & Publishing. But during the hearing, Brasgalla's video (and her body) began moving frequently.

While waiting for her hearing. Brasgalla places her arm above what looks like a TV stand, and, for lack of a better word, the video feed begins bouncing. Her head appears in and out of frame, and it goes on like this for quite some time.

While she denied the claim that she was having sex, the footage tells another story. Above is an abbreviated version of the footage, but the full clip can be viewed here. Yes, this clip appearing in the r/trashy subreddit speaks for itself.

She then goes on to smoke what appears to be a cigarette. A few minutes later, the court reconvenes after Simpson was informed of what was happening.

His personality is on full display: instead of punishing her as she deserves, he demanded that she appear in person next week for her hearing and then kicked her out.
