Michigan Wizard of Oz Festival 2022

For almost a decade, the Wizard of Oz Festival has been held in downtown Ionia, Mich.

It's returning in 2022, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1., with activities at different locations throughout Ionia.

The Wizard of Oz Festival will kick off Friday, Sept. 30 with character meet and greets from the movie at different locations in Ionia.

The event will culminate on Saturday, Oct. 1 with a showing of the 1939 film at the historic Ionia Theatre, priced the same as it was years ago - only 25 cents per ticket!

And there's a lot going on in between!

The Wizard of Oz Festival includes the Race to Oz 5K Run/ Walk, Fall Farm Market and pumpkin decorating at the Ionia Harvest Marketplace, the Flying Monkey Flea Market and Arts and Crafts Show, Sidewalk Sales, performances of scenes from the movie, Auntie Em's Vintage Tablecloth and Quilt Show, a Cackling Contest and more.

Something special for the kiddos, Glinda's Tea Party and Luncheon, is a ticketed event, Saturday Oct. 1.

There will also be a 100th birthday celebration for Judy Garland on Saturday.
