A Michigan police department is dealing with theft INSIDE the station - and it sounds like the perp just may be one of their own...

Last week Wyandotte Police shared about an incident involving two of their officers... one of them being K-9 Ice.

Ice stands accused of swiping a fellow cop's lunch. Wyandotte PD did not hold back on SHAMING Office Ice, saying,

Stealing is not only a crime but it is morally wrong too. Some jobs, like that of being a police officer, require you to take an oath prior to starting. Within the officer's sworn oath is the promise to protect person's property. That being said, it saddens me to report that a current officer of the Wyandotte Police Department is under investigation for stealing!

According to the report, another cop, Officer Barwig was eating lunch in the breakroom when he was called to assist with a person the jail.

He quickly jumped into service, leaving his half eaten lunch on the table. A short while later Barwig and another officer returned to the breakroom only to find Officer Ice leisurely strolling out of the room licking his chops. Barwig's entire lunch was gone....disappeared, vanished!

Apparently, Ice isn't talking. The department says Ice has invoked his fifth amendment right to remain silent and "quite frankly is not cooperating with the investigation."

They say this isn't the first time Ice has been suspected of theft... fellow officers say he has a history of rummaging through trash cans and has been known to take food right from coworker's hands as they walk by! Gasp!

Wyandotte PD says they are continuing to investigate and will consider their Facebook followers opinions on how to proceed...

Frankly, I think Ice is innocent. The evidence is all circumstantial. Also - look at that face! Ice looks like a very good boy... how dare his good name be tarnished by this sham of an investigation. Team Ice!

Well - it sounds like the public agrees with me! Here's the latest on the situation from Wyandotte PD:
