So what makes this place so special? It isn’t fancy décor or gourmet toppings because you won’t find either. It’s a straightforward 7-ounce burger, a soft bun, a stack of pickles and onions, and a side of nostalgia served on wax paper.
Welcome to Miller’s Bar in Dearborn, a no-frills institution that’s been serving its famous Ground Round since 1941. Guests still pay using the honor system, which is cash only.

Each burger is freshly ground and hand-pattied in-house every morning, grilled to order, and paired with a cold pop or beer. Fries, onion rings, and a few sandwiches round out the menu, but the burger is the undisputed star.
Miller's says they welcome everyone and treat them like family—all of us regular folks but also politicians, Red Wings, Tigers, and Lions players, and even the occasional celebrity like Tom Selleck.
