The State of Michigan Is Dominating College Hockey, Top 3 Rankings
Winter has made itself known this year, and with plenty of people sick of trying to avoid slipping on ice. So people instead chose to enter arenas to watch people who make moving on ice look completely natural.

Well, it looks like all this time surrounded by the cold must have done something to Michiganders. Michigan hockey is playing at an all-time high, with one school coming off a National Championship and two others ranking at the top of the polls for the last couple of years.
But now, everything has come together, and Michigan schools are ranked among the top 3 hockey teams in the entire country.
Michigan Universities Dominate Hockey
Western Michigan (16-6-0) is coming off its program's best season ever, and there were questions about whether the team could sustain its momentum, but it looks like those concerns were unwarranted, as the Broncos are ranked third in the latest polls.

But it's even more surprising when you hear that the University of Michigan and Michigan State University (MSU) are ranked 1st and 2nd, respectively. Michigan State (17-5-0) has been playing excellently since coach Adam Nightingale took over in 2022, earning the #2 seed in the Frozen Four last season. These teams have played twice this season, splitting the series 1-1.
The University of Michigan (20-4-0) won the Championship in 22-23 and 23-24, made the final in 2023-24, but were knocked out in the first round last year. But they're back to peak form this season, having dropped only 4 games so far this year.
The hockey domination extends beyond these three schools as well. The Grand Rapids Griffins, in their 30th season, are having a record-setting season and are first in their standings by a comfortable margin, while the Red Wings are having a huge turnaround season and are currently in a head-to-head race for 1st in the Atlantic Division.

I think it's safe to say Hockey Town has turned into Hockey State.
