Bobcat Spotted Chilling On Barbed Wire Fence At Michigan Prison
There’s a reason cats are the stars of so many viral memes: they do what they want, when they want, and somehow manage to make it hilarious.

Lately, Michigan has been seeing its own share of feline shenanigans. From cougar sightings on the rise, to the first cougar cubs being confirmed in the Mitten State for the first time in over 100 years. Wildcats, it seems, are making themselves at home.

But this week, it's a bobcat that is stealing the spotlight.
Early Tuesday morning, staff at Chippewa Correctional Facility in the Upper Peninsula had an unexpected visitor: a bobcat who clearly didn’t get the memo about “no trespassing.” Witnesses reported the feline jumped off the barbed wire fence, sprinted around the perimeter, and then decided a maple tree was the perfect spot for a little catnap. For a full hour, this wildcat perched like a furry king surveying his snowy kingdom.
Eventually, with a little help from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the bobcat was safely escorted off the prison's grounds and returned to the forest—probably already plotting its next viral stunt.

While some cats prefer to chill at home, this one reminded everyone why wildcats are equal parts majestic and meme-worthy. And thankfully, after a morning of high-flying antics, this fella is back where he belongs, living his best snowy-day life.
