First Ever Mexican Food Buffet is Coming to Grand Rapids
A first-of-its kind restaurant is opening up in Grand Rapids this week!
Mexican Buffet Coming to Grand Rapids
What a great idea! I've never heard of a Mexican food buffet before - but why not? We've got Asian food buffets and places like Golden Corral (well, not in GR anymore) that serve a bunch of different kinds of food, so why not Mexican?
Gatos Mexican Buffet is opening up in place of Cantina Los Amigos in Grand Rapids Uptown Neighborhood.
The restaurant has been through a few changes, initially opening as Danzon Cubano back in 2018. Cantina Los Amigos at 1 Carlton Ave. SE is marked as permanently closed on Google.
A few weeks ago the owners shared to Facebook that the restaurant would be transitioning into Grand Rapids first ever Mexican buffet. It appears there is another Gatos Mexican Buffet in Battle Creek.
Food at Gatos Mexican Buffet
Owners describe Gatos' food as "authentic Mexican dishes made with the freshest ingredients and traditional recipes passed down through generations."
Items include tacos, flautas, fajitas, chicken chipotle, traditional Mexican rice, barbacoa, carnitas, burritos, refried beans, ceviche, queso dip, and guacamole.
There's also a nacho station, taco bar, and a selection of Mexican desserts.
You'll also find cocktails, including margaritas.
While we don't know if pricing will be the same, the buffet is $15.99 at the Battle Creek Location.
When Is Gatos Mexican Buffet Opening in Grand Rapids?
The new restaurant has shared its soft opening will be Tuesday, June 6 at noon.
