The Kent County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fight involving a machete that occurred in the early morning hours January 1, 2024.

According to police, a party was ongoing in the 9100 block of Kenowa Ave. NW in Sparta Township when just before 5a.m. a fight broke out.

An adult male suspect used a machete to break windows and attack others.

Two adult males fought with the suspect and received minor injuries.

Once police arrived, they located and arrested the suspect.

The two male victims and the suspect were taken to an area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Multiple witnesses are being interviewed.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor.

The case is being reviewed for charges of a felonious assault.
