Long Road Distillers in Grand Haven is currently closed for the meantime after one of their employees tested positive for COVID-19.

The distillery posted the news on their Facebook page on Thursday. They were closed yesterday but said they might be closed a little longer so they can properly clean and disinfect their building.

They state that the infected employee worked last Thursday and passed their required health screening before starting work. She also displayed no signs or symptoms. Long Road says they don't believe she was ill the day she worked but they are closing as a precaution. Also, all employees who worked last week will be getting tested, per the Health Department. Long Road says they'll reopen once results are back. You can keep up with their status on Facebook.

The employee who tested positive is in good spirits and recovering at home.

She suspects she was exposed over the weekend at a busy bar in Grand Rapids where social distancing and face covering recommendations weren't being closely adhered to.

Let this be a reminder that a resurgence of COVID-19 cases can and will happen if we don't do what we need to do. Florida, California, and Texas are just a few examples of states with rising numbers after reopening. Please be safe when you're out in public and wear your mask when possible.

Long Road Distillers in Grand Rapids remains open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 3p-7p.
