If you love candy then I'm sure you know about Sweetland Candies and they are celebrating their centennial anniversary this year.

According to WZZM, Sweetland Candies, located in Plainfield Township, is a family business that was founded in 1919 by Chris Naum who migrated from Greece and opened the candy shop.

Drew Naum is a fourth generation candy maker and said, "I think it is so special to see the tradition that Sweetland Candies has become in people's families and passed down through their families through the generations just as the business has been passed down through our families generations. To see people enjoying our candies for 100 years is amazing."

Big sellers for holidays like Easter, Valentine's day and anniversaries have been an array of chocolates, candies and nuts.

Naum also said, "We do everything the way I was taught by my grandpa. He taught me how to cook everything. He passed that on from his dad so the recipes are truly 100 years old."

To say thank consumers for years of continued support there will be a Customoer Appreciation Day on May 31. If you go to the Plainfield location you will get 20% off your entire purchase.
