One Michigan Location Makes Time Magazine’s Worlds Greatest Places List

Michiganders know how our awesome our state is. Michigan cities get recognized all the time for being some of the best in the U.S., receiving honors for craft beer, great restaurants, charming main streets, fall foliage, romantic destinations, and more.

This time around one Michigan spot is being honored for being one of the best places ON EARTH.

Time Magazine has released its "World's Greatest Places 2025" list. The 100 locations to make the cut are "one-of-a-kind spots and experiences." To create the list, Time takes nominations from its international network of correspondents and contributors. There's also a way that hotels, cruises, restaurants, parks, and other attractions can apply.

According to Time, one of the top spots to visit in the world is Detroit's Little Village.

You'll find it with the East Village neighborhood of Detroit. Little Village is described as "a cultural corridor fostering an inclusive community centered around the arts."

At the Heart of Little Village is The Shepard, a more than 100-year-old church that now houses two gallery spaces, a public library, and workshop space for the community. It's even got a skate park designed by Tony Hawk!

Down the street is Pewabic Pottery. The National Historic Landmark is home to pottery, architectural tile, and ceramic arts studios, plus a gallery, store, and education center. It's one of the oldest continually operating potteries in the country.

In addition to more galleries, art studios, shops, and restaurants there's something new on the way. Stanton Yards is set to be a waterfront destination on the Detroit River with views of Belle Isle. It will include commercial and creative spaces, boat slips, and parks.
