Like the Grit of the Detroit Lions? Now You Can Drink It
When a sports team is doing well, local businesses in the home state get creative. One in Michigan is creating a lineup of spirits called "Grit."
What is Detroit Lions Grit?
Grit was a word that was heavily used by Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell when talking about his team and individual players. Campbell on one occasion explained, "Grit is when you have the ability to overcome adversity in any situation. The ability to push through it, mentally, physically, to overcome." Those are powerful words that were part of a speech the coach made to his team which you can view below.
After Campbell's infamous "Grit" speech a shirt was created that said, "GRIT, Born in Detroit." These "T's" spread like wildfire then all kinds of other Grit merch started hitting the shelves of online stores.

Michigan Based Company Has Created Grit You Can Drink
Grit is the word that was written in large print on the wall of the room where the Detroit Lions coaches and players would hold their off-the-field meetings. Grit inspired the Lions, the fans, and now a Michigan Winery.
The company is called Whole Hearted Winery located in New Hudson, Michigan. Whole Hearted has been making top-notch wine since 2019 but didn't stop with wine. The company has grown to make beer, seltzers, ciders, and even summertime wine slushies. Now Whole Hearted Winery is moving into the spirit/cocktail game with a new line of products.
Coming soon in 2024 you'll be able to drink Grit if you are 21 or older. Whole Hearted Winery will unveil a Detroit Gin, Rye Whiskey, and Vodka. Obviously, from the logo Grit is not officially affiliated with the Detroit Lions, but one look at any of these bottles and you know where the inspiration comes from. So if you ever wondered what Grit would taste like, you will soon get your shot. See what I did there? Cheers!
As you can see from the folks posting on this thread, it is unanimous that Grit will fly off the shelves once it gets rolled out. If you would like to see more comments on Grit or make one of your own click here.
