MLive reports that Water Warrior Island water park at Bald Mountain State Park in Lake Orion has three new launch slides this summer, known as "The Warrior Whoa Slides":

There are three slides in all, each 30-feet high sending sliders down at around a 75-degree angle. At the bottom, sliders are launched high into the air, like jumping off of a swing, getting plenty of airtime before splashing into the water.

You could be launched as far as 20 feet out into the lake.

How fun!

Here's how the park describes the slides:

Our WARRIOR WHOA SLIDE water slides are at the forefront of the design and production of the world’s most exciting recreational swim platforms and launch slides. The proprietary launch designs encompass an unparalleled thrill in conjunction with a completely safe experience.

Water Warrior Island co-owner Sam Fulton tells MLive these are the first slides of their kind in the entire country!

Cost is $5 for one slide, $10 for three, $15 for five, or $25 for ten. There's also an all-you-can-slide pass 6 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays and beginning at 7 p.m. on weekends for $55.

These wild slides aren't the only attraction at Water Warrior Island.

You will need a recreation passport to get in, as it's inside the state park. Depending on what activities you're interested in, pricing varies. But if you just want to hang out on the beach and swim in the lake, it's free!

Water Warrior Island's 2023 season runs May 24 through September 6.
