Nu-metal pioneers Korn have announced the release date for their tenth studio album, The Path of Totality. The disc will see the light of day on December 6 via Roadrunner Records. The Path of Totality will be a departure from previous Korn albums, as multiple tracks will be produced by different dubstep artists, including Skrillex, Excision, Datsik and more.

According to frontman Jonathan Davis, timing was everything in order for the album to work.

"The title The Path of Totality refers to the fact that in order to see the sun in a full solar eclipse, you must be in the exact right place in the exact right time," says Davis. "That's how this album came together. I think all the producers feel the same way. I'm not sure it could ever happen again"

The first single from the album, "Get Up!", was produced by Skrillex and released back in May. I was skeptical about "Get Up!" when I first heard about it. Korn and dubstep? Not possible. However, after listening to the song I was hooked. If the rest of The Path of Totality is in the same vein, I'm definitely going to pick up a copy.

It's refreshing to see established bands take risks and try something different. Are you looking forward to Korn's new sound? Let us know below.
