Josh & Jase Reveal Why They Came To Michigan In The Winter
The arrival of British influencers Josh & Jase in Michigan sent much of the state into a frenzy. Everywhere they go, people and businesses welcome the duo to their towns, and someone even created a Facebook group with over 75K members to actively track them down as they travel. To say Michigan is loving these guys is an understatement.

But the number one question they have gotten since they arrived has been "Why did you come here in the winter?!" Michigan is gorgeous in the summer and is home to USA Today's #1 place to travel in the summer. So it has confounded people why they chose to come here when temperatures have been consistently below zero, and there is so much snow that it has shut down highways in the UP.
Well, they have finally given a straight answer about their reasoning for choosing Michigan, and it's one only Midwesterners would truly understand and appreciate.
Why Josh and Jase Came To Michigan
The pair of influencers has 2 million followers on TikTok and even more on their individual pages, which is where Jase shared why they chose Michigan in the winter. On his page, The Accent Guy, he posted this:
There’s real beauty in the opposite, seeing how people that live here all year round survive and thrive.
Jase explained that he has seen things he'd never thought he'd see, from huge snow to frozen lakes, and people swapping their cars for snowmobiles. He ended by saying, "...for a place so cold, you have so much warmth." Everyone says they came at the worst time of year, and that's exactly why they came.
Anyone who chooses to live in Michigan will know that, as annoying as the cold and ice can get, winter really is a special time of year. It's not as glamorous as a beach day, but a slow day with snow coming down and sipping a warm drink after shoveling is a nice moment despite it all.
These two "outsiders" have put a spotlight on how absurd winters here can get while also highlighting how it brings people together. It's a special line to walk, and I believe their genuine enthusiasm has only made people more excited about winter.
