
Kid Rock & Uncle Kracker Surprise Fans, Support ALS Cause
Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker surprised a Michigan crowd in a small town park with a performance to support a fellow musician battling Lou Gehrig's Disease.
There is a strong sense of brotherhood among musicians, exemplified by two of Michigan's most prominent stars and other performers.
What is Lou Gehrig's Disease
Lou Gehrig's disease is another name for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), which is a progressive neurodegenerative disease affecting nerve cells that control voluntary muscle movement.
ALS leads to muscle weakness and paralysis, and neurons die off. The disease can affect anyone, but typically appears after age 55, with men being slightly more susceptible than women.

A Michigan musician, whom Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker have performed with for years, is currently battling ALS.
Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker Play Surprise Set For Friend With ALS
Jimmie Bones has been the keyboard player for Kid Rock and the Twisted Brown Trucker Band since 1996. Bones also performed as a solo artist with his band, the Snakebit Wanderers. Bones has been a Michigan musician for decades, performing in bars, clubs, and arenas around the world. Bones is an incredible keyboardist and harmonica player..
Bones has ALS and recently performed his final show surrounded by his friends. Two of whom are Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker.

According to MLive, Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker performed Kracker's remake of "Drift Away" at the LaFontaine Family Amphitheater in Milford over the weekend. There is a video of the performance below.
I was lucky enough to play with Jimmie Bones in a band many years ago called "Silk." He was only in the band for a short time, but was a great guy, an incredible keyboard player, and one of the best harmonica players I had ever performed with. I knew he would go on to do big things, and boy, did he ever. I'll be praying for you, Jimmie.
