Not A Surprise – Chris Swanson To Announce Michigan Governor Run

Could Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson be Michigan's next governor?

Speculation about the popular sheriff running has been an open secret for many years. If everything goes according to plan, Swanson will announce his run for Michigan governor tomorrow, Thursday, February 6th, 2024.

Swanson's resume does hold up. He has over 30 years in law enforcement, and he implemented the G.H.O.S.T program in 2018 to prevent human trafficking and stop online predators.

Sheriff Swanson was also recognized throughout the United States when he walked with the Flint community to bring people together after the death of George Floyd in 2020.

Let's not forget about I.G.N.I.T.E. (Inmate Growth Naturally and Intentionally Through Education), which Swanson started in 2020 to educate inmates at the Genesee County Jail.

Even Jelly Roll took notice of the unique program. The superstar performed in Flint during an I.G.N.I.T.E graduation ceremony and helped to build a music studio inside the jail.

Let's not forget his love for animals, and his determination to bring abusers to justice.

• Mike Dugan (Independent)
•  Jocelyn Benson (Democrat)

Speculation is Mike Cox will be running as well, but not confirmed. Chris Swanson will reportedly run as a Democrat.
