Jojo Girard to Headline the Sunday Night Funnies

Longtime Grand Rapids radio personality to headline a special comedy night featuring comedians that are ages 50+.

What is the Sunday Night Funnies?

The Sunday Night Funnies was created by local Grand Rapids comedian Brian B. The Sunday Night Funnies is a weekly live stand-up comedy night featuring local comedians, others from around Michigan, and comics from around the country.

There is nothing like the gift of laughter and in today's world, we need all the laughs we can get. The Sunday Night Funnies has been bringing laughs to West Michigan for 15 years and over 1,200 comedians have performed at the club.

The Sunday Night Funnies happens Sundays at Woody's Pressbox located inside the Spectrum entertainment complex at 5656 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming right between the Meijer and Craig's Cruisers.

Comedy Show Featuring Comedians Ages 50+

This special Sunday Night Funnies event focuses on comedians who are 50+ in age in honor of May being Older Americans Month. This comedy show is free to enter and while you are there pick up some of the 50/50 raffle tickets because those proceeds will go to Gilda's Club of Grand Rapids.

Longtime radio personality JoJo Girard will headline this special 50+ Sunday Night Funnies event. Girard was the morning show host at WFGR for several years but has always done stand-up as one of his true passions. JoJo is hilarious and was one of my favorite co-workers to chat with. I saw him perform at Gilda's Laughfest the day before the lockdown of the pandemic in 2020 and he had a great set.

Jojo will be joined on stage for the Sunday Night Funnies by Detroit area comic Kathy Ryan, and comedians Ed Hunter, Tom Hofbauer, Bob Johnson, Eva Pritchard, and Jim Charles. The show is free so you will want to get Woody's Pressbox early. Doors will open at 7:30 with the show beginning at 8:30 pm.
