Have you ever been to a town in Michigan where you felt like you were sticking out like a sore thumb? As if you didn't make enough, dress well, or your education level was miles below those you spoke with? You may not be the only one based on the findings of RoadSnacks.net's annual "Snobbiest Cities in Michigan" list.

While RoadSnacks.net prefaces the study by saying that the towns that appear on the list aren't necessarily bad places to live, outsiders coming into these areas may feel 'less than' those who live there.

According to RoadSnacks.net, a few factors contribute to making a town 'snobby.' An abundance of 'McMansions" is a contributor, along with the median home cost. Of course, you're not buying a massive home without an equally huge income (at least not anymore), so average income was also part of determining the 'snobbiness' of Michigan's cities.
As someone who prefers gas station coffee over a cafe and Slim Jims over Filet Mignon, I often feel out of place in some of Michigan's fancier locations. Part of that may be that the people I'm conversing with have educations far exceeding my 'some college.'
Everybody Stands Out Somewhere in Michigan
Remember that even Michigan's upper crust can feel like a fish out of water. Imagine putting a Kentwood resident in the middle of Stockbridge or expecting someone from Grosse Pointe Farms to blend into Baraga's background.
