The Road To the Super Bowl Could Run Through Detroit – Here’s How

The Detroit Lions are fresh off their first playoff win in decades and are set to advance to the Divisional Round - just two games away from the Super Bowl. There's a shot for the road to the big game to run through Ford Field - here's how.

The Detroit Lions were the number 3 seed heading into the 2024 NFL Playoffs. They survived the opening Wild Card Weekend by defeating the Los Angeles Rams and will face either Philadelphia, seeded 5th or Tampa Bay, the 4th seed in the Divisional Round. That game is slated for Sunday afternoon with a 3:00 kick.

The other match-up in the NFC for Divisional Weekend is also set. The Green Bay Packers visit the top-seed San Fransisco 49ers. The Packers pulled a stunner by defeating the #2-seeded Dallas Cowboys - and exacted sweet revenge for Lions fans after a late-season loss Detroit suffered in Dallas on a highly questionable officiating call.

With Dallas out, the Lions effectively move up to the #2 slot - and the highest seeds always host in the playoffs.

So should the Lions win next weekend and should Green Bay remain on the heater and become the rare lowest-seed team to advance to the Conference Championship and a step away from the Super Bowl, the game would indeed be in Detroit.

Should however the San Fransisco 49ers beat Green Bay then the NFC championship would be in Cali against whoever prevails from the Lions/Bucs/Eagles.

The Lions split the regular season series against divisional rival Green Bay and the NFC North did not face the NFC West this season so should the game be Lions/9ers, there's nothing to look back on this season.

First things first, Lions fans, is a win in the Divisional round and a second post season victory at Ford Field.
