Exciting Summer Reading Program “Book It” Is Back!
Next Friday, May 1st is the big day! Parents can enroll their children in the Pizza Hut reading program, "Book It!"
Since 1984, Pizza Hut has been encouraging young students to read. Yes, during the school year, but over the summer too.
Our kids need to shut down their "screen time" and rekindle a joy of reading. And, nothing says I love to read more than FREE pizza!
So Pizza Hut has set up enrollment to open May 1st. They, along with teachers and parents want to keep kids reading, and loving books. Besides, they can win FREE pizza.
This program is for kids in pre-K through 6th grade, and runs through this summer, June 1 to August 31.

It is so easy for parents to shuffle off their kids over the summer and turn on the TV or allow WAY too much screen time, iPads, phones, etc. But, mom and dad, you are doing a huge disservice to your kids.
Reading is huge and meaningful for your kids. The Child Mind Institute says in a nutshell:
- Reading to children builds language skills, vocabulary, and general knowledge that helps them learn more effectively in school.
- Books help children develop empathy and emotional regulation by providing opportunities to discuss feelings and coping strategies.
- Reading together creates connection between parent and child, and the physical contact actually boosts the brain’s receptivity to learning.
Pizza Hut has made it easy to get started. There is an app available in the App store and Google Play store that will manage everything for you.
