What are all these spiders doing in my house? Holy cow, they seem to be everywhere. I know that this is probably the time of year they come out, but I swear I have cities of spiders. What about you?

Hey! Wouldn't it be nice if they actually ate stink bugs?

Seriously, I'm wondering if it is unusual to see so many this time of year?

No, not really. They are coming out now because it is warming up. It always startles us when we see them, especially along the ceiling. Then of course they drop down and we run for the hills. In my house I hear my wife Susie yell, "There is a spider in here, come and get it please." Of course, Superman to the rescue.

Spider lovers will say most Michigan spiders are not dangerous to humans. In fact, many play an important role in controlling insects and maintaining balance in the ecosystem and controlling the insect population around the house.

Does that mean I should just leave them alone, let them spin webs to catch bugs and eat them? I don't think so.

I know spiders are creepy but Michigan spiders are not dangerous, mostly. It's just that they creep me out, right? And, what about the "dangerous?"

I tuned to the website, Mirapest.com to find out and here is what they said:

"A few species, like the northern black widow and brown recluse spider, are considered venomous spiders. While bites are uncommon, they can cause symptoms that require medical attention.

In most cases, spider bites occur when a spider is accidentally pressed against the skin, such as in clothing, bedding, or storage items."

Oh, great. So you're saying we're sleeping with spiders? Good bye!
