We all love ice cream, right? It's yummy all the time whether it's hand dipped, or soft serve, probably not really ice cream, whatever. And now that the warm months are here it seems to taste even better.

But, just because it's called ice cream, is it all good no matter what? Not exactly because all ice cream isn't created equal and while some brands may taste great, others are a bit, well, blah!

And, have you noticed that some so-called ice cream brands aren't called ice cream? Scary, but it's because of the ingredients used. So, some are called "frozen dairy treats" or "frozen dairy desserts." Hmmmm??

That said, are there some brands we should avoid? YES, according to the website 24/7 Wall St. They just released their list of the 11 worst ice cream brands in America.

Taking the #3 spot of worst ice cream brands according to 24/7 Wall St. is Baskin Robbins. They have been criticized for using questionable ingredients like stabilizer/ emulsifier blends containing mono and diglycerides, cellulose gum, guar gum, and carrageenan. Also, customers are not happy with the taste and the hint of freezer burn that forms on the ice cream.

#2 Breyers
Breyers Frozen Dairy Desert takes the second spot of worst ice cream brands according to 24/7 Wall St. The main complaint is that it currently manufactures products that can’t be labeled as ice cream as they don't include and of the creamy fat content that makes ice cream.

#1 Turkey Hill
Turkey Hill, which is sold at Walmart, is the #1 worst ice cream brand according to 24/7 Wall St. So what's the deal here? Turkey Hill uses the same principal offenders- cellulose gum, cellulose gel, and carrageenan making it a low quality ice cream.

Everyone realistically has their own taste and each of us will be partial to a specific brand.

For us here in Michigan I think it's Hudsonville. It's always outstanding and I just had to post my favorite! Sure glad they didn't make the list.
