Michigan Lottery Player Snags $1 Million Prize on $50 Scratch-Off
An Ingham County man who spent $50 on a scratch-off ticket walked away $1,000,000 richer.

The man, who chose to remain anonymous, bought the ticket at Louie’s Party Store on South Washington Avenue in Lansing.
He recently made the short drive to visit Michigan Lottery headquarters in Lansing to cash in his winning ticket.
He shared with the Michigan Lottery that he buys lottery tickets often, but only the $50 game.
After he bought and scratched the barcode on his Millionaire Maker ticket, he scanned it inside the store.
When he received a message to file a claim, he then went out to his car and scratched off the rest of the ticket.
“I was so excited when I saw I won $1 million that it was hard to even drive home because I couldn’t focus! I’m still in awe and waiting for it to fully sink in.”
I would never spend $50 on a ticket, but you can bet I would be shaking with excitement too if I saw that much money was coming my way.
The man chose to take a one-time lump sum payment of about $693,000 rather than annuity payments for the full amount.
He said that with his winnings, he plans to pay off his home and buy a new truck.
This Lansing man isn't the only one to win big playing the Michigan Lottery.
A Grand Blanc lottery club won a million dollars playing the Powerball.
A Kent County woman who went out to get some late night food stopped at a gas station and ended up buying a winning ticket worth a million dollars.
