Michigan Lottery Player’s $1M Surprise Leaves Him Saying, ‘This Can’t Be Real!

That saying also applies to a Michigan Lottery player who recently bought an expensive scratch off ticket and ended winning an unbelievable amount of money.

A 48-year-old man from Jackson County bought a $50 Millionaire Maker instant ticket.

He shared with the Michigan Lottery how he found out he was a big winner.

“I’ve been buying one Millionaire Maker ticket a week since the game came out, I scratched the ‘Your Numbers’ section of the ticket first and saw 44 had ‘$1MIL’ underneath it. Then I scratched the ‘Winning Numbers’ section next. When I revealed 44 as one of my winning numbers, I thought: ‘This can’t be real!’ I tried to stay calm, but I was so excited.”

The lucky winner recently drove to Lansing to cash in at the Michigan Lottery headquarters.

The man chose to receive a one-time lump sum payment of $693,000 instead of annuity payments for the full amount.

He will take that money and put it towards his savings.
