A 48-year-old man from Jackson County bought a $50 Millionaire Maker instant ticket.

He shared with the Michigan Lottery how he found out he was a big winner.

“I’ve been buying one Millionaire Maker ticket a week since the game came out, I scratched the ‘Your Numbers’ section of the ticket first and saw 44 had ‘$1MIL’ underneath it. Then I scratched the ‘Winning Numbers’ section next. When I revealed 44 as one of my winning numbers, I thought: ‘This can’t be real!’ I tried to stay calm, but I was so excited.”

 

The lucky winner recently drove to Lansing to cash in at the Michigan Lottery headquarters.

The man chose to receive a one-time lump sum payment of $693,000 instead of annuity payments for the full amount.

He will take that money and put it towards his savings.

This lucky man isn't the only one to win big recently playing the Michigan Lottery.
