The incident, captured on surveillance cameras, occurred while the male officer was seated and writing a report.

The female officer drew her Taser and shot him under his arm, causing him to fall from his chair.

Thankfully, he didn't sustain any injuries from the fall.

Saginaw County Sheriff William L. Federspiel said that the officers were not arguing prior to the incident, and no inmates were involved.

The female officer claimed it was meant as a practical joke.

However, Federspiel emphasized that such actions are unacceptable, saying, "We can't tolerate any type of assault, whether it's a joke or not.

Officers are prohibited from removing their weapons from holsters unless necessary.

After an internal investigation, the female officer was placed on administrative leave and subsequently terminated for displaying "very poor judgment."

The investigation reports have been forwarded to the Saginaw County Prosecutor's Office for review.

Chief Assistant Prosecutor Blair N. Stevenson stated that a decision on potential charges would be issued shortly.

The terminated officer, who had been with the department since at least 2019 and had previously received a lifesaving award, is represented by the Police Officers Association of Michigan.

The union representative, Steve Sellers, plans to assess the situation and determine the next course of action.

I love a good practical joke but I don't see anyway that this fired corrections officer will get her job back after this prank.
