Those who have been living on earth for 3, 4, 5, or more decades understand that the way of living has completely changed. From the things that we find value in the value of items, everything is more expensive than it used to be before. One of the conversations that has been happening a lot in recent years is the fact that young adults now are not in the same financial place that young adults were 30 or 40 years ago. For some, it's due to their poor choices but for others, it's due to factors out of their control.

A couple of those factors are inflation and income, which one has risen a lot faster than the other. I will tell you it would be amazing to say that the income level was rising faster than that of inflation but that's not true, instead it's the exact opposite. As we continue to fight against inflation many people continue to struggle to stay afloat as products continue to rise in price. The working class continues to fight for livable wages but to no avail at the moment. Speaking of low wages, these are the counties in Michigan with the lowest income rates.

As I previously mentioned there are multiple reasons why someone's income could be higher or lower, but many of them are self-inflicted wounds. Some people choose jobs that don't make as much, some aren't as qualified, and others are affected by the crazy inflation rates. Either way, there are people right here in Michigan who are suffering while trying to keep their families alive.

24/7 Wall St is coming through again with some of the best information surrounding the income rates and challenges that we all face around the country. Michigan has a median household income of $68,505. But in many parts of the state, the typical household earns far less than the statewide median. So, while factoring in population, poverty, income, and unemployment rates, they ranked the counties by median income.

I'm not sure if you fall under any of these circumstances but I hope that you can be blessed with the income that you need for your family to live comfortably if that's not already the case. Are you wondering if your county is on the list, I won't hold you up any longer, here are the 35 lowest-income counties in Michigan.
