People were recently joking about renaming the Great Lakes and now renaming Lake Michigan might actually be a thing.

I still don't understand why politicians are focused on renaming bodies of water when inflation and bringing prices down are what Americans are concerned with.

Google finally changed the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. How does that lower prices? It doesn't so maybe some people should be fired. I recently saw online that people were thinking of "Pure Michigan" names for the Great Lakes but it was all in fun. Now a politician has declared a new name for Lake Michigan.

Is Lake Michigan Changing to Lake Illinois?

According to WILX, Governor JB Pritzker of Illinois has made a proclamation that Lake Michigan is now to be named Lake Illinois. I bet that lowered gas prices and eggs...not. Governor Pritzker is also considering changing the name of the Mississippi River. This is stupid but let's find out what people said on social media.

The Bears may have gotten the Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson but you don't get to rename Lake Michigan.

At least this Reddit poster offered a fair solution. I wonder what the Wisconsin governor thinks about this since his state is next to Lake Michigan too.
