We grew up listening to him every weekend on "American Top 40" -- counting down the top 40 songs in the country. How would you like to live in his house?

Casey Kasem hosted American Top 40 from it's beginning in 1970 until finally retiring from the show in 2004. Kasem passed away on June 15th, 2014, at the age of 82. (Casey was born in Detroit, MI and began his broadcasting career in Flint.)

In 1989, Kasem purchased a home at 138 North Mapleton Drive in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles, as a birthday present for his wife, Jean. In 2013, the two put the home on the market for $43 million. After Casey's death there were dueling lawsuits between his family members. The children and brother claimed that Ms. Kasem had neglected and abused Casey, resulting in his death. Her suit made similar claims against them. The suits were both settled in 2019. Once the lawsuits were settled, the property was re-listed last month for $37.9 million.

The home sits on almost 2.5 acres and features a 12,000-square-foot home. It was originally listed in 2013 for $42 million. The home has plenty of room for you and your family and friends...with eight bedrooms and 10.5 bathrooms. There is also a heart-shaped pool and the formal garden in the backyard has 1,200 white rose bushes.

The home is located in the center of the so-called “Platinum Triangle” with the Playboy Mansion and the Manor and also the enormous home of producer Aaron Spelling located nearby.

If you don't like the current home, the listing agents have actually pitched the existing mansion as a potential teardown. Existing regulations would allow for a 50,000-square-foot home to be built on the site.

Here is a video tour of the home from the listing back in 2013...

The home was listed by David Parnes and James Harris with The Agency, but it looks like the listing has been taken down. Perhaps there has been another snag, or maybe someone has purchased the property. Who will be living at Casey's old address next?
