Theatrical rockers In This Moment have revealed the title of their upcoming album — the follow-up to 2017's Ritual — and confirmed that Mother will receive a summer 2019 release in a recent appearance on Cutter's RockCast.

Listen to the interview below, where, coming after Mother's Day in the U.S. and abroad, In This Moment guitarist Chris Howorth divulged the fittingly maternal moniker for what he dubbed the act's "heaviest" effort since 2012's Blood. Around that time, Blood was viewed as a turning point in the band's sound and scope.

"The album is done," the musician explained to Cutter, the Wisconsin-based radio host. "It's called Mother. I heard August-ish release — I don't have a solid date to throw out there yet, but the summer. You can say August. We're really stoked. This is our heaviest record since Blood, I'll say that too."

The heaviest In This Moment album since Blood? Howorth continued, "Now that it's all done and I'm hearing it as one thing, I'm like, 'Damn, this is really heavy,'" the guitarist confessed of the upcoming effort, the band's seventh studio album. "I think a lot of our fans are going to really like that about it."

But while the musician said he's "really proud of all the songs that we've written," he has noticed the band's growing fandom in the seven years since Blood's release seem to care less and less about the group's older material.

"The success of Blood and the new area of In This Moment — there's so many new fans," Howorth said. "Most of them have never heard of us before; this is their first time seeing us at a lot of these shows. Everyone knows the words to all the new songs, We play the old songs [and] people don't know what we're doing!"

Singer Maria Brink previously hinted at the band's new album title in an Instagram post, a suggestive hash tag guiding the way to this summer's prospective release after the band first entered the recording studio late last year.
