How Far and How High Can A Deer Jump?

I've hunted whitetail deer for a lifetime and every day on my commute to and from work I look for deer. Since I look for deer all the time and spent over 30 years hunting them, I have witnessed some pretty awesome leaps, but I wonder just how far can a deer jump.

A healthy adult white-tailed deer can jump up to 30 feet horizontally and that is a long distance especially if you think of how far 10 yards is on a football field. An adult deer can easily jump 8 feet or higher without too much difficulty.

Deer Jumps Over Car and Lands In Bed of Pickup Truck

This is an amazing jump from a young buck. I can't believe the deer cleared the first car and the front of the middle vehicle and landed in the truck bed. What is even crazier, the person with the vehicle out by the road just stopped by to purchase the pickup truck.

The truck was in mint condition before the deer crash-landed on the side of the truck with the front half of the deer in the bed and the back half putting a big dent into the side. The owner of the truck still made the sale but lost $900 after the deer dented the truck. This is a pretty amazing video below and very hard to only watch once.
