Home Depot Directs Hot Dog Vendors To Pull Out Of Michigan Locations
Home Depot hot dog stands won't be returning in post-pandemic life here in Michigan. The retailer has notified food vendors that they won't be able to set up in store entryways as they have in the past.

The news came to light after a facebook post by Hot Diggitty Dog L.L.C. They ran a stand in the Dearborn Heights Home Depot and were told that corporate notified local stores that food vendors in Michigan stores would have to close up shop.
Bill Loizon, the owner of four stands in the Detroit area, told Local 4 that telling his employees about the closures was one of the hardest things:
They're like family, I had to call them the other day. I was crying in my garage. It's hard to say goodbye and tell them that they're done.
In a report on Local 4 in Detroit Home Depot had this to say in a statement:
In March 2020, our in-store food vendors were asked to close for the safety of customers and associates, and the decision has been made to suspend food vendor operations in Michigan so we can focus on serving customers with their home improvement needs. This news was shared with vendors a couple weeks ago, and we appreciate the years and partnership and wish them well in their future business.
The hot dog stands were very popular with tradesmen who would often grab a meal while getting supplies between jobs. The stands, often situated at the dual entrance/exits, were also popular for families who might be heading in for weekend "honey-do" supplies with kids in tow.
