Iconic ‘Home Alone’ House For Sale a Few Hours Drive From Michigan

A few years ago the stately residence from the movie "Home Alone" was offered up on Airbnb. Now, instead of just spending the night in the McCallister home - you can live there!

According to the listing, the "legendary holiday dream home" has been "reimagined for modern-day luxury."

The stately brick Georgian residence of "Home Alone" is up for sale in Winnetka, Illinois, about 40 minutes north of Chicago. I mapped it out, and it's just over three hours from Grand Rapids, Mich. (Though it's no longer on the market, there was a "Home Alone" look-a-like house for sale in Michigan a few years ago.)

Originally built in 1921, the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home sits on a little over half an acre in the Chicago suburbs. It was renovated and expanded in 2018, however the current owners "took the utmost care in maintaining the architectural detail and integrity of the home's most memorable and recognizable spaces."

So the foyer and unforgettable entry staircase, plus the formal living and dining room spaces, you'll definitely recognize from the 1990 film.
