GR’s Long Road in the Running for Best Distillery in the Nation
Long Road Distillers is up for not just one, but four national honors!
The Grand Rapids distillery is among the top 20 in four polls on spirits in the 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards by USA Today.
Long Road is in the running for Best Craft Spirit Distillery in the U.S.:
Among the spirits made by the folks at Long Road Distillers in Grand Rapids are two varieties of aquavit, a popular Scandinavian spirit. The Original Aquavit has a profile of herbs and spices, while the limited release Old Aquavit rests in used whiskey barrels for 12 months, lending it greater complexity with notes of dill and caraway. The Michigan distillery also makes limited release liqueurs in flavors like raspberry and cherry.
Long Road is also up for Best Craft Gin Distillery, Best Craft Vodka Distillery, and Best Craft Brandy Distillery.
In each category, a panel of experts nominated 20 of the best craft specialty spirits distilleries in the USA.
Long Road co-owner Kyle VanStrein told WZZM-13 they're "incredibly proud" to receive so many nominations this year:
"As we continue to expand our portfolio with new, exciting spirits, it’s affirming to receive accolades and honors on a national and international scale."
