Alter Bridge made history last week by becoming the first band to win the Rocktagon 20 consecutive times. They now retire as champions. Tonight (October 15) Sick Puppies and Filter battle for the vacant Rocktagon title.

GRD presents Sick Puppies, with special guests 10 Years and Charming Liars, this Saturday at The Intersection. The trio are touring in support of their fourth studio album, Connect. Fans can expect a few stripped down versions of Sick Puppies songs at the show.

"We're doing an acoustic breakdown in the middle of the set," frontman Shimon Moore told PilotOnline. "We usually play, like, two songs like that because that's kind of how the songs were written. It's always good to let people hear that stuff. And then there are about for every two old songs, there's one new song. So we'll play about an hour and 15 minutes. We'll have about 15 songs in there, maybe more."

Rock veterans Filter are celebrating 20 years as a band in 2013. The Cleveland, Ohio rockers released their sixth studio album, The Sun Comes Out Tonight, back in June. Filter will be at the Machine Shop in Flint on October 19. We doubt drummer Jeff Fabb will be denied entry into a restaurant that night like he was in Denver, Colo. last week.
