You’ve read that right! Your West Michigan area choir can WIN its way on stage to sing with the legendary band FOREIGNER at Acrisure Amphitheater—all thanks to 97.9 GRD and MSU Federal Credit Union! 🎤🎶

Not only will one lucky choir get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to perform live with Foreigner, but the band will also award $500 to the winning school’s choir program, helping support music education right here in our community.

97.9 GRD, MSU Federal Credit Union, and Foreigner are teaming up to create an unforgettable experience for local students. One West Michigan choir will join Foreigner ON STAGE during their August 1st show at Acrisure Amphitheater, performing the iconic hit “I Want to Know What Love Is” with the band.

Who Can Enter?

This contest is open to West Michigan youth choirs with 25 singers or fewer, including:

  • Junior high choirs

  • High school choirs

  • College choirs

  • Community youth choirs

  • Church youth choirs

(Sorry—this contest is not open to adult choirs.)

Starting February 2, 2026, choirs can submit a video (it does not need to be professionally produced) of their group singing “I Want to Know What Love Is.”
The submission window closes April 26, 2026.

Voting Details

All submitted videos will be featured in a separate article where listeners, families, and friends can vote for their favorite choir.

  • Voting opens: April 27, 2026

  • Voting closes: May 10, 2026

What Can You Win?

  • 🎶 Perform “I Want to Know What Love Is” live on stage with Foreigner

  • 💵 $500 for your school’s choir program
