Grand Rapids Woman Tweets ‘Don’t Vote For My Dad!’

Stephanie Regan may not want you to vote for her dad, but her dad welcomes her criticism, saying it's okay.

Robert Regan is running for the 73rd District seat in the State House of Representatives, he's on the Republican ticket and will square off in August in a tightly contested race to replace Lynn Afendoulis, who is running for Congress.

He's won over quite a few people in his district, but he's failed to win the support of his daughter, Stepahnie, who recently tweeted for anyone over 18 to NOT vote for her dad.

On a reply to his Facebook page, Robert says "I am happy that she feels confident enough in our relationship to express her opposing thoughts so publicly."

Later, when reached by the political web site, The Hill, Regan added, “A lot of students when they go off to these liberal university campuses, like the University of Colorado, the University of Texas and Austin — and she went to the University of Colorado in Boulder — and you know, they just kind of get sucked into this Marxist, communist ideology and she and I just don’t see eye to eye when it comes to the whole socialism, communism, Marxist philosophy."

The state House candidate added when discussing his and his daughter’s political differences that on a scale of 1-10, “I’m like the right wing, a 10, and she’s like a zero.”

That's rather apparent.

The Hill also contacted Stephanie, and has yet to receive a response.
