Record cold temps are hitting the state of Michigan this week (and some areas of the state have seen thirty inches of snow). It's only mid-November, but the weather makes it feel more like we're deep in the thick of January.

As of right this minute (Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.) it's actually COLDER here in Grand Rapids (19°) than it is at the northernmost point of the United State - Point Barrow, Alaska (20°).

The good news for Michiganders is that we're supposed to see a warm up after today. Thursday we'll see high temps getting up above freezing for the first time in a few days and by next Tuesday we'll be seeing temperatures up in the 40s.

More good news? There's no more snow in the forecast after today (though we could see some rain next week.)

Let's hope that this week's weather was just a fluke and that the rest of the winter will be a touch more mild.
