One of Grand Rapids’ Most Beloved Restaurants Is Closing Temporarily
When people in Grand Rapids start listing their go-to restaurants, one name almost always comes up. And now, one of the city’s most beloved neighborhood pubs is hitting pause, at least for a little while.

A Grand Rapids Favorite for Over Two Decades
Graydon’s Crossing is temporarily closing as it prepares for its next chapter.
The Creston staple, known for its cozy British pub vibe and dishes like fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, and bangers and mash, first opened in 2005.
Over the years, it’s gone through a few ownership changes, including a 2017 sale to the team behind other Grand Rapids' favorites, SpeakEZ Lounge and Garage Bar & Grill.
New Ownership
Most recently, in 2024, the restaurant was purchased by MudPenny owner Matthew Fuller, who made it clear from the start that the goal was to honor what people love about Graydon’s while also bringing fresh energy to the space.

At the time, he shared that they planned to “preserve the restaurant’s legacy while infusing new ideas,” with updates already beginning and more on the horizon. Since then, some British classics have been revamped and other new menu items have been introduced, like butter chicken, goulash, and brunch dishes.

Why Graydon’s Crossing Is Closing Now
In a recent Facebook post, the team announced that March 31 will be their last day of service before a temporary closure. The reason? A full remodel and reimagining of the restaurant. They described what’s coming as “a refreshed concept, a renewed vision,” focused on thoughtful hospitality and creating a space that feels both new and rooted in community.
