The first legal sales of marijuana in Grand Rapids will begin next week.

MLive reports that Fluresh provisioning center at 1213 Phillips Ave. SW will open to card-carrying medical marijuana patients at 10 a.m. Feb. 7.

The City of Grand Rapids has approved plans for 24 medical marijuana dispensaries so far; Fluresh is the first to open.

Lindsay Levin, chief marketing and sales officer for Fluresh told MLive,

“We are really excited about it. We think this is an amazing community. We think that our medical cannabis will be able to serve a number of patients and really provide them the experience they’re looking for.”

The facility off of US-131 and Hall Street will also contain up to to 58,000 square feet of medical marijuana growing operations.

Fluresh says they plan to employ more than 100 people.

Following the grand opening, Fluresh will be open be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Grand Rapids City Officials have said they will begin to accept applications for the sale of recreational marijuana starting on April 20th, 2020.
