Gov. Whitmer to Lift Michigan’s Stay-At-Home Order
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is lifting the state's stay-at-home order and allowing businesses such as retail, bars, and restaurants to reopen. The stay-at-home order went into effect on March 24.
WOOD-TV8 reports that bars and restaurants will be allowed to open to the public next week. People are asked to continue to practice social distancing when these businesses reopen.
Retailers stores will be able to reopen to customers without an appointment on June 4, and restaurants will be able to start offering dine-in service again on June 8. Groups of 100 people will also be permitted to gather outdoors as long as they are practicing social distancing.
Governor Whitmer is expected to address these changes during her update at 3 p.m. Monday.
