New All-Day Breakfast Diner Coming to Grand Rapids
Last year we told you Royals in Grand Rapids would be permanently closing - we now know what's moving in!

Royals Shuts Down in East Hills
After originally opening as a diner in 2020, Royals on Wealthy St. shut down temporarily due to struggles during the pandemic.
In Fall of 2022, after reopening after transitioning into a pizza joint, the restaurant announced its permanent closure to Facebook, saying,
We limped through the pandemic, only to fall victim to a massive hospitality employee shortage, supply chain issues, and rising costs on everything restaurant related... Earlier this summer we took a break to re-concept... While this change showed promise, it wasn't nearly enough to move Royals in the right direction.
While it was sad to say goodbye to Royals, the good news is that a new restaurant is opening up in its place!
Lansing-Based Diner to Open New Restaurant in Grand Rapids
Grand Rapids Business Journal reports that Lansing-based Good Truckin’ Diner will be moving in to 701 Wealthy St. SE, the former home of Royals.
Good Truckin' Diner describes themselves as an "eclectic diner" offering all-day breakfast, plus lunch items, and gluten-free and vegan options.
The original Good Truckin' Diner is located in Lansing’s REO Town, and there is also a food truck.
The new restaurant is targeting a June 1, 2023 opening day.

Menu at Grand Rapids' Good Truckin' Diner
Nick Sinicropi, owner of Good Truckin’ Diner, tells GRBJ the new Grand Rapids restaurant will have the same menu as the Lansing location, in addition to the daily specials.
Good Truckin' serves breakfast classics like egg dishes, waffles, and pancakes. There are also breakfast sandwiches and burritos.
It looks like they come up with some creative specials too!
Lunch items include burgers, sandwiches, and French fry baskets.
