Many young people who grew up during the video game boom would love to be part of developing their own games. A video game developer is offering mentorships.

An established professional game developer from Grand Rapids is looking to help aspiring game designers find the tools and information they need to become game developers and is willing to do this over a cup of coffee.

For the person who loves playing video games and creating computer code, becoming a game developer could be the ideal, if not a dream job. My son is a gamer, and he has mentioned becoming a game developer for years, but I have no idea where to direct him to do this.

I've suggested to my son to take all the computer classes he can, and he has been learning about coding and has become good at it, but where do I send him next?

Maybe it’s about who you know, or perhaps I need to do more research online, but I did discover someone who is offering an opportunity for people who have some skills to get the tools they need to follow their dreams of game development.

According to WOOD TV, the director of game development and publishing company Finji, Adam Saltsman, is holding one-on-one mentorship sessions with people who aspire to become game designers.

Saltsman was involved in creating games like 'Night in the Woods' and 'Usual June' and is willing to meet with young professionals who are interested in a career in the video game industry.
