Free Beer & Hot Wings: Pilot Ejects from Already Crashed Airplane [Video]

Seeing a video of a pilot ejecting from a plane that is about to crash isn't anything new.

Hell, it seems like every time an air show takes place, we see footage of a plane crashing and a pilot safely parachuting away from the about-to-crash plane.

But this video is a little different.

A Royal Air Force pilot was attempting to land his plane at a base in Kandahar, Afghanistan, when things didn't go according to plan.

e seemed to belly flop on the runway pretty violently, causing the landing gear to collapse, the nose of the plane to fold under and a fire to break out.

When the flames reached the cockpit, the pilot decided it was time to bounce. Yes, he ejected while already on the ground!

This really gives you an appreciation of how quickly those chutes open!
