Free Beer & Hot Wings: Footage of BASE Jumpers Leaping Off New York’s Freedom Tower [Video]
Last September, a few BASE jumpers dropped out of the sky in New York's Lower Manhattan, landing in the middle of an intersection on the West Side Highway.
Until Monday, no one knew where it was that they had jumped from, as it could have been from one of many buildings or even an aircraft. However, two BASE (which stands for building, antenna, spire and earth) jumpers turned themselves in to police.
The pair admitted that they had jumped off the spire of the 1,776-foot-tall Freedom Tower on Sept. 30.
Luckily, when they took the jump, they were geared up with GoPros and captured the whole thing on video. And the footage is INCREDIBLE!
Their lawyer said that any revenue generated from the video will be donated to charity.
