Free Beer & Hot Wings: Car Thief Attempts to Get Away on a Skateboard [Video]

This is news of a car chase in Van Nuys, Calif., but with a weird twist.

The driver, suspected of stealing the car, accidentally rear-ends another driver. Having nowhere to go, he leaps out of the car and on to a longboard, taking his his four-wheeled flight to the sidewalk.

He might have escaped if it weren't for a man driving a pickup who was alerted to the situation, ABC7 News reported.

The pickup's driver pinned the sidewalk-surfing thief against a metal fence just long enough for the authorities to take control. Well done, citizen!
